Replacement element for the Katadyn KFT Expedition Micro-filter.
The Katadyn Expedition KFT Water Filter Replacement (1040) is a highly advanced replacement water filter cartridge for the Katadyn Expedition KFT High Capacity Water Filter System.
The Katadyn KFT replacement filter element will filter up to 26,000 gallons of water before it needs to be replaced, and it can also be cleaned many times before replacement in order to restore the full flow rate. When the flow rate in your Katadyn Expedition decreases you should remove the KFT 1040 filter element and clean the outer layer until you can see the original color of the filter. An included measuring gauge allows you to check the remaining service life of the filter.
The Katadyn Expedition 1040 ceramic depth filter cartridge removes numerous contaminants and impurities from tainted water, including:
...and other disease causing agents down to the very fine 0.2 micron level
This bacteriological KFT depth filter reduces or removes dirt, bacteria, pathogens, micro-organisms, some viruses, and parasites like cryptosporidium, giardia, klebsilla, vibrio, and others that cause diseases such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid fever, and other potentially life-threatening illnesses. It also reduces any radioactive particles which may be present.
